Jay is an internationally recognized playwright, director and educator. He is the award- winning director/choreographer for the off-Broadway production of Jolson & Co. He serves as Director of Music Theatre Performance for the nationally ranked program at Western Michigan University. He is a much sought after director in regional theatre and New York and his plays and musicals are produced frequently both in the US and internationally.

Among Jay’s many titles available for production are Jolson & Co. (Samuel French, Inc.) and What A Glorious Feeling (Playscripts, Inc.). Recent productions include the Barter Theatre, Theatre at the Center, the Adirondack Theatre Festival, Oregon Cabaret Theatre, as well as a national tour across the United Kingdom.

As a director, Jay is known for combining a sensitivity for truth and humanity with a great sense of style and humor. Equally at home with both plays and musicals, Jay’s work has been featured Off-Broadway, as well as in such regional theatres as the Coconut Grove Playhouse, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Florida Studio Theatre, the Adirondack Theatre Festival, Virginia Musical Stage, American Stage, and many others.
